New York Joins Sister City on 10th Anniversary of Sarin Gas Attack
TOKYO, MARCH 20. Tokyo suffered a terrorist attack that killed a dozen innocent commuters and injured thousands 10 years ago on March 20th, 1995. In our shared determination to combat such senseless atrocities, New York City and Tokyo became “Sister Cities”. The September 11th Family Association honored that special relationship through participation in the anniversary ceremonies in Tokyo, Japan in 2005. ArtAID produced a unique banner that was displayed at Ground Zero in NYC and signed by hundreds of well-wishers from around the world solidarity with the victims of that attack.
